Download the Amazon Alexa app on your phone or tablet
Open the app and sign in with your Amazon account
Plug in your Alexa device and wait for the light ring to turn on
In the Alexa app, tap Devices
Tap the plus icon
Tap Add Device
Select Amazon Echo
Choose your specific Echo model
Follow the on-screen instructions
Connect the device to your Wi-Fi network
Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted
Wait for the setup to complete
Test Alexa by saying a wake word and giving a command
