Open Steam
Click Steam in the top-left corner
Select Settings
Go to Controller
Click General Controller Settings
Connect your controller via USB or Bluetooth
If using Bluetooth, put the controller in pairing mode
Select your controller in Steam
Enable the appropriate controller support option
Test the controller in Steam
Launch a game and check the controller input
