How To Catch Fruit Flies?

Remove overripe fruit and trash immediately

Rinse and store produce in the refrigerator

Clean spills, sticky counters, and drains

Run water in unused sinks and keep drain areas dry

Empty recycling and trash frequently

Wash reusable containers and bottles promptly

Seal food in airtight containers

Use a cup-and-funnel trap with apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap

Cover the cup with plastic wrap and poke small holes for entry

Make a wine/bait trap using a small amount of vinegar or fruit juice in a container with a hole-covered lid

Use sticky fruit-fly traps near problem areas

Place traps near fruit, trash bins, and sink/drain areas

For drain flies, use a drain brush and clean with a drain-safe cleaner

If needed, use an insecticide labeled for fruit flies and follow label directions

Repeat trapping and cleaning daily until activity stops
