Dust blinds regularly using a microfiber duster, a soft brush, or a vacuum with a brush attachment
Close blinds fully, then wipe each slat with a microfiber cloth to remove surface dust
Flip blinds to the opposite direction and repeat wiping each slat
For deeper cleaning, fill a bucket with warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap
Dip a microfiber cloth into the soapy water, wring well, and wipe slats from top to bottom
Rinse by wiping with a clean cloth lightly dampened with plain water
Dry with a dry microfiber cloth to prevent streaks and water spots
For vinyl or faux wood blinds, use the same method and avoid soaking the headrail
For aluminum blinds, avoid harsh abrasives and scrub gently with a damp cloth
For wood blinds, use a barely damp cloth and wipe with the grain; dry immediately
For fabric blinds (if applicable), use a vacuum with a soft brush and spot-clean only as recommended by the manufacturer
For stubborn grime, mix equal parts white vinegar and water, lightly wipe slats, then wipe with plain water and dry
Avoid soaking cords, ladders, and any exposed hardware
Keep blinds fully open while cleaning to reach both sides of slats more easily
Let blinds dry completely before closing them fully
