Confirm the turkey is fully frozen and remove all packaging
Preheat the oven to 325°F
Place the frozen turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a roasting pan
Do not stuff the turkey
Brush or rub the turkey with oil or melted butter if possible
Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh
Roast the turkey uncovered
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the breast and thigh
Expect the cooking time to be about 50% longer than a thawed turkey
If the skin browns too quickly, tent it loosely with foil
Check the temperature in multiple spots near the end of cooking
Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving
Carve and serve once the temperature is safe
