Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly
Pat the sweet potatoes dry
Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork
Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, depending on size
Check for doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the center
Remove from the oven when soft all the way through
Let cool for a few minutes before serving
