Place it in direct sunlight for 4 to 6 hours daily, preferably more
Use only distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or rainwater
Keep the soil consistently moist, never dry or waterlogged
Use a nutrient-poor mix such as sphagnum peat moss and perlite or silica sand
Plant it in a pot with drainage holes
Avoid regular potting soil, fertilizer, and tap water
Feed it only small live insects occasionally if grown indoors
Do not trigger the traps unnecessarily
Allow a winter dormancy period for 3 to 4 months with cooler temperatures and less watering
Remove dead leaves and blackened traps carefully
Repot every 1 to 2 years if needed
Keep it in a humid but well-ventilated area
Protect it from extreme heat, frost, and drafts
