Choose a planting site with full sun to partial shade
Use well-draining soil
Plant bulbs in fall before the ground freezes
Dig holes about 4 to 6 inches deep
Space bulbs about 4 to 6 inches apart
Place bulbs pointed end up
Cover bulbs with soil and gently firm it
Water thoroughly after planting
Apply a layer of mulch if desired
Keep soil lightly moist, not soggy
Allow foliage to die back naturally after blooming
