Wash and scrub the potatoes
Pat the potatoes dry
Pierce each potato several times with a fork
Rub the potatoes with a little oil
Sprinkle with salt if desired
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer
Cook for 35 to 45 minutes, depending on size
Turn the potatoes halfway through cooking
Check for doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the center
Add extra time if the potatoes are not tender
Remove from the air fryer
Slice open and serve with desired toppings
