How To Cook Pumpkin Pie Pumpkins?

Choose small sugar pumpkins or pie pumpkins

Wash the pumpkins

Cut each pumpkin in half

Scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp

Place the halves cut-side down on a baking sheet

Bake at 375°F until tender, about 45 to 60 minutes

Remove from the oven and let cool

Scoop the flesh from the skin

Mash or puree the flesh until smooth

Drain excess liquid if needed

Use the cooked pumpkin in pie filling or store it for later use
