How to Cook Sopes?

Mix masa harina, warm water, and salt until a soft dough forms

Knead the dough until smooth

Divide the dough into small balls

Flatten each ball into a thick disk

Cook the disks on a hot dry skillet or griddle until lightly browned on both sides

While still warm, pinch the edges to form a raised rim

Heat oil in a skillet

Fry each sope until crisp and golden

Drain on paper towels

Top with refried beans, meat, lettuce, cheese, salsa, and crema
