How to Cook Gorditas?

Mix masa harina with warm water and a little salt until a soft dough forms

Divide the dough into equal balls

Flatten each ball into a thick disc

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat

Cook the gorditas for a few minutes on each side until lightly browned and cooked through

Remove from the heat and let them cool slightly

Split each gordita open with a knife or your fingers to form a pocket

Fill with beans, cheese, meat, or your preferred filling

Serve warm
