Pat the steak dry
Season both sides with salt and pepper
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F
Lightly oil the steak or air fryer basket
Place the steak in a single layer in the basket
Cook for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through
Check doneness with a meat thermometer
Remove at 125°F for rare
Remove at 130°F for medium-rare
Remove at 140°F for medium
Remove at 150°F for medium-well
Remove at 160°F for well-done
Rest the steak for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing
