Select the text, image, or file you want to copy
Press Ctrl + C to copy
Move to where you want to paste
Press Ctrl + V to paste
To cut instead of copy, press Ctrl + X
To copy and paste with the touchpad, right-click and choose Copy, then right-click and choose Paste
To copy and paste with a touchscreen, tap and hold, then choose Copy or Paste
To copy a file in the Files app, right-click the file and choose Copy
To paste a copied file, go to the destination folder, right-click, and choose Paste
To copy and paste on a Chromebook with a keyboard shortcut, use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V
