Wash the pineapple under running water
Place it on a cutting board
Cut off the top crown
Cut off the bottom base
Stand the pineapple upright
Slice off the skin from top to bottom in strips
Remove any remaining eyes with a small knife
Cut the pineapple in half lengthwise
Cut each half into quarters if desired
Slice out the hard core from each piece
Cut the pineapple into slices, chunks, or spears
Store cut pineapple in an airtight container in the refrigerator
