Feed the tile slowly and steadily through the saw

Use an angle grinder with a diamond blade for notches or shaped cuts
Use a tile cutter designed for porcelain for simple straight cuts
Apply masking tape over the cut line to reduce chipping
Cut from the finished side when possible
Support the tile fully during cutting
Smooth rough edges with a rubbing stone or diamond hand pad
Test-fit the tile before installation
Keep the blade and tile wet when using wet-cutting tools
