Turn the sock inside out
Place a darning egg, mushroom, or similar support inside the hole area
Trim loose threads around the hole
Thread a needle with matching or sturdy thread
Tie a knot at the end of the thread
Stitch around the edge of the hole to anchor the thread
Sew parallel rows across the hole in one direction
Weave perpendicular rows through the first rows to create a patch
Keep stitches snug but not too tight
Cover the entire worn area with woven stitches
Secure the thread with a few small stitches
Tie off the thread and trim the excess
Turn the sock right side out
Repeat on the other sock if needed
