Turn off the machine
Raise the presser foot
Raise the needle to its highest position
Place the spool of thread on the spool pin
Put the spool cap on if needed
Guide the thread through the top thread guide
Bring the thread down into the tension area
Bring the thread up through the take-up lever
Bring the thread back down through the lower guides
Thread the needle from front to back or as indicated by your model
Pull several inches of thread through the needle
Place the bobbin in the bobbin case or bobbin area
Follow the bobbin thread path shown on the machine
Pull both top and bobbin threads under the presser foot and toward the back
Turn the handwheel toward you to test the thread path
