Open the Instagram app on your mobile device
Go to your profile
Tap the menu icon (three lines)
Tap Settings and privacy
Tap Accounts Center
Tap Personal details
Tap Account ownership and control
Tap Deactivation or deletion
Choose Deactivate account
Select a reason for deactivating
Enter your Instagram password
Tap Deactivate
Confirm deactivation when prompted
