Go to the Microsoft account closure page
Review the account closure information
Follow the prompts to verify your identity
Check the boxes for the required acknowledgments
Select a reason for closing the account
Choose the waiting period if prompted
Submit the request to close the account
Save any important files, emails, or subscriptions before closing
Cancel any active subscriptions and redeem any remaining balances before closing
Remove the Microsoft account from any devices and apps you use
Wait for the closure period to end before the account is permanently deleted
