Restart the Chromebook
Open the Files app
Locate the corrupted file
Right-click the file
Select Delete
Empty the Trash if it appears
Try deleting from Google Drive if the file is synced
Sign out and sign back in
Use the Files app in Guest mode
Remove the file from Downloads using the Files app
Open ChromeOS Recovery if the system file is corrupted
Powerwash the Chromebook if the file cannot be removed normally
Recreate the file from backup if needed
