Turn off the refrigerator’s water supply valve
Unplug the refrigerator
Pull the refrigerator away from the wall
Place a towel or shallow pan under the water line connection
Locate the water line connection at the back of the refrigerator
Remove any retaining clip or locking collar if present
Press the release ring or fitting collar inward if it is a push-to-connect fitting
Gently pull the water line straight out
If the line is threaded, use a wrench to loosen the compression nut
Cap or plug the water supply line to prevent leaks
Check for any remaining drips and dry the area
Move the refrigerator back into place if needed
