Cut away as much of the cured silicone caulk as possible with a utility knife or razor scraper
Use a silicone caulk remover gel or solvent made for silicone
Let the remover sit for the time listed on the product label
Scrape off the softened caulk with a plastic scraper or putty knife
Wipe the area with mineral spirits or isopropyl alcohol if the surface allows it
Repeat the remover-and-scrape process for stubborn residue
Use a stiff brush or abrasive pad on non-delicate surfaces to remove remaining residue
Wash the area with soap and water after the caulk is removed
Test any solvent on a small hidden area first
Wear gloves and work in a well-ventilated area
