How To Do A Burnout?

Find a safe, legal, closed area away from traffic, people, and obstacles

Make sure the vehicle is in good mechanical condition and the tires are properly inflated

Wear your seat belt and keep both hands on the steering wheel

Start the engine and keep the car fully stopped with the brakes applied

For a manual transmission, press the clutch and select first gear

For an automatic transmission, hold the brake firmly and select drive

Increase engine speed while keeping the vehicle stationary

Release the clutch quickly in a manual, or ease off the brake in an automatic

Apply enough throttle to make the drive wheels spin while the vehicle stays in place

Keep the burnout brief to avoid overheating or losing control

Release the throttle and brake to stop the wheel spin

Pull over and inspect the tires, brakes, and surrounding area before driving again
