Park at the gas pump and turn off the engine
Put the car in park and set the parking brake
Open the fuel door
Remove the gas cap if your vehicle has one
Check the fuel grade recommended for your car
Select the correct fuel grade on the pump
Insert the nozzle into the fuel tank opening
Squeeze the handle to start fueling
Stop when the pump clicks off automatically
Do not overfill the tank
Remove the nozzle from the tank
Replace the gas cap securely if applicable
Close the fuel door
Pay for the fuel if needed
Drive away only after the area is clear
