How to Do Bikini Wax at Home?

Trim hair to about 1/4 inch

Exfoliate the area 24 hours before waxing

Clean and dry the skin completely

Gather wax, strips, applicator, mirror, soothing lotion, and tweezers

Test the wax temperature on a small area

Apply a light dusting of powder if needed

Hold skin taut with one hand

Spread wax in the direction of hair growth

Press strip firmly over the wax if using soft wax

Leave a small tab at the end of the strip

Pull the skin tight before removing the strip

Remove the strip quickly against hair growth

Keep the pull parallel to the skin

Repeat in small sections

Use tweezers for stray hairs

Apply pressure to the area immediately after each pull

Avoid waxing over the same spot more than once

Remove leftover wax with post-wax oil or approved cleanser

Apply a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer or aloe gel

Avoid hot baths, saunas, tight clothing, and exercise for 24 hours

Avoid sun exposure and swimming for 24 hours

Exfoliate gently after 2 to 3 days to prevent ingrown hairs

Stop if the skin becomes very irritated or broken

Seek professional help if you are unsure or have sensitive skin
