Take photos of the original upholstery and construction

Remove the old fabric carefully

Save the old fabric pieces as patterns

Remove staples, tacks, and nails

Inspect and repair the frame

Replace broken springs, webbing, or padding

Measure and cut the new upholstery fabric

Align the fabric pattern and grain

Attach the new fabric starting from the center

Pull the fabric taut while stapling or tacking

Work evenly around corners and curves

Trim excess fabric

Reinstall cushions, trim, and hardware

Check for wrinkles, gaps, and loose areas

Clean the finished piece
