Draw a vertical line near the left edge for the spine seam
Add a thinner rectangle on the right edge for the page block
Draw a curved line near the top to suggest the open/closed shape (optional)
Add a curved line near the bottom to match the top curve (optional)
Sketch a small gap between cover and pages near the spine
Draw a simple cover design (rectangle panel, lines, or a title band)
Add page edges by drawing short horizontal lines extending from the page block
Draw the bottom and top edges of the cover with slightly thicker lines than the interior
Erase construction lines that are no longer needed
Add shading along the spine, under the cover edge, and along the page folds
Outline the final drawing with darker lines
Add highlights on the cover and page edges (light shading or white space)
