How To Dry Lavender?

Harvest lavender stems in the morning after the dew has dried

Cut stems when the flowers are just opening

Remove damaged leaves and insects

Gather stems into small bundles

Tie bundles with string or rubber bands

Hang bundles upside down in a dark, dry, well-ventilated place

Keep bundles away from direct sunlight

Leave space between bundles for airflow

Let lavender dry for 1 to 3 weeks

Check that stems feel crisp and flowers are fully dry

Remove dried flowers from stems if needed

Store dried lavender in airtight containers

Keep stored lavender in a cool, dark place
