Choose a ripe papaya with yellow-orange skin and a slight give when pressed
Wash the outside of the papaya
Cut the papaya in half lengthwise
Scoop out and discard the seeds
Scoop the flesh out with a spoon or peel off the skin and slice the flesh
Eat the papaya plain
Add lime juice if desired
Add it to fruit salad, yogurt, or smoothies
Refrigerate any unused papaya in a sealed container
