Obtain a filled soul gem
Find an item with an enchantment effect or a spell effect you want to use
Go to an Arcane University or Frostcrag Spire enchanting altar
Select the item you want to enchant
Select the soul gem to power the enchantment
Choose the enchantment effect
Set the magnitude, duration, and area if applicable
Confirm the enchantment
Use the enchanted item after it is created
