Wash your hands and stand or sit in a relaxed position
Use the pads of your fingers, not the fingertips
Feel the groin area on both sides, just below the crease where the leg meets the pelvis
Press gently but firmly in small circular motions
Check for lumps, swelling, tenderness, or hard nodes
Compare both sides for any difference
Feel along the upper inner thigh and lower abdomen near the groin
Check for nodes that are enlarged, firm, fixed, or painless
Do not press directly on the testicle when checking lymph nodes
Repeat the check regularly and note any changes
See a doctor promptly if you find a new lump, swelling, or persistent enlargement
