Clean the hole and remove loose debris
Apply spackle or wall filler with a putty knife
Press filler firmly into the hole
Smooth the surface level with the wall
Let the filler dry completely
Sand the area until smooth
Apply a second coat if needed
Sand again after drying
Wipe away dust
Prime the patched area
Paint to match the wall
