Clean the dented area and dry it completely
Assess whether the paint is cracked or chipped
Use a hair dryer or heat gun to warm the dented panel
Apply compressed air or a cold source to help the metal contract
Try a suction cup dent puller on shallow dents
Use a plunger on larger shallow dents
Access the backside of the panel if possible and gently push the dent out
Use a rubber mallet and a block of wood to tap the dent from behind
Apply hot water to plastic bumpers and push the dent out from behind
Use a dent repair kit with glue tabs and a puller tool
Remove interior trim or paneling if needed for access
Sand, fill, and repaint if the paint is damaged
Take the car to a body shop for deep dents, sharp creases, or damaged paint
