Trim the nail straight across
File the split edge smooth
Clean the nail and remove any debris
Apply a clear nail glue to the split
Press the split together until set
Place a small tea bag or silk wrap over the split
Apply another layer of nail glue over the wrap
Buff gently once dry
Seal with a clear top coat
Keep the nail short while it grows out
Moisturize nails and cuticles regularly
Wear gloves for cleaning and dishwashing
Avoid using the nail as a tool
See a doctor if the split is deep, painful, bleeding, or infected
