Park on a level surface and secure the vehicle
Chock the wheels
Jack up the vehicle and support it with jack stands
Remove the wheel
Inspect the caliper for visible damage, leaks, or corrosion
Check the slide pins for binding or rust
Remove the caliper mounting bolts
Remove the caliper from the bracket
Compress the caliper piston with a brake tool or C-clamp
Replace seized slide pins
Clean and lubricate the slide pins with brake grease
Replace damaged caliper boots and hardware
Replace the caliper if the piston is seized or will not retract
Inspect the brake hose for collapse or blockage
Replace the brake hose if it is restricting fluid return
Inspect the brake pads and rotor for uneven wear or heat damage
Replace worn or damaged pads and rotor if needed
Reinstall the caliper and torque all fasteners to specification
Bleed the brake system if the hydraulic line was opened
Reinstall the wheel
Test the brakes at low speed before normal driving
