Turn off the sprinkler system
Dig around the sprinkler head carefully
Inspect the head for cracks, clogs, or damage
Remove the damaged sprinkler head
Clean the riser and surrounding threads
Replace the head with a matching model
Wrap the threads with plumber’s tape if needed
Screw the new head on securely by hand
Adjust the spray direction and pattern
Turn the system back on and test the head
Check for leaks and proper coverage
Refill and compact the soil around the head
