Wash basil leaves gently in cold water
Pat the leaves completely dry
Remove any damaged or yellow leaves
Choose whole leaves or chop them if desired
Place leaves in a single layer on a baking sheet
Freeze the baking sheet until the leaves are solid
Transfer the frozen leaves to a freezer-safe bag or container
Remove as much air as possible before sealing
Label the container with the date
Store in the freezer until needed
Use directly from frozen in cooked dishes
