Trim the base and remove any damaged outer stalks
Rinse celery thoroughly under cold running water
Dry completely with a clean towel or salad spinner
Wrap celery tightly in aluminum foil
Store wrapped celery in the refrigerator crisper drawer
Keep celery away from ethylene-producing fruits
Replace the foil if it becomes wet or torn
For cut celery, store in an airtight container with a little water
Change the water regularly if storing cut stalks in water
Freeze celery only if using it later for cooking
