Wash the yellow squash thoroughly
Trim off the ends
Slice, dice, or shred the squash as desired
Pat the pieces completely dry
Spread the squash in a single layer on a baking sheet
Freeze the pieces until solid
Transfer the frozen squash to freezer bags or airtight containers
Remove as much air as possible before sealing
Label the bags or containers with the date
Store in the freezer for up to 3 months
Use directly from frozen in cooked dishes
