File the top layer of the acrylic nails until the shine is gone
Soak nails in acetone until acrylic softens (20–45 minutes)
Wrap each fingertip with foil around a cotton pad soaked in acetone (10–20 minutes)
Gently push off softened acrylic with an orange stick or cuticle pusher
If acrylic doesn’t lift, re-soak and repeat filing/soaking in short intervals
Remove remaining residue with a gentle buffer or more acetone-soaked cotton
Wash hands with soap and water
Apply cuticle oil or thick hand cream to moisturize
Avoid picking, prying, or pulling acrylic off when it’s not fully softened
