How to Get Amaryllis to Rebloom?

Keep the plant in bright light after flowering

Remove spent flowers, but leave the leaves intact

Water regularly while leaves are green and growing

Feed every 2 to 4 weeks with a balanced fertilizer during active growth

Let the leaves grow for several months to recharge the bulb

In late summer or fall, reduce watering gradually

Stop watering and let the bulb go dormant for 8 to 12 weeks

Store the dormant bulb in a cool, dark, dry place

After dormancy, repot the bulb in fresh potting mix if needed

Place the bulb in a warm, bright location and resume watering lightly

Keep the top third of the bulb above the soil line

Water only when the top inch of soil is dry

Maintain temperatures around 60 to 70°F for best reblooming

Rotate the pot regularly for even growth

Avoid cutting off green leaves too early

Repot and divide offsets only when necessary

Repeat the growth and dormancy cycle each year
