How to Get Baby to Crawl?

Give plenty of supervised tummy time every day

Place toys just out of reach to encourage movement

Get down on the floor and crawl with your baby

Use a rolled towel or small pillow under the chest for support during tummy time

Encourage reaching, pivoting, and rocking on hands and knees

Place a favorite object slightly to one side to promote weight shifting

Create a safe, open floor space for practice

Limit time in seats, swings, and other containers

Let your baby practice barefoot for better traction

Offer lots of praise and encouragement

Model crawling by moving slowly in front of your baby

Use tunnels or soft obstacles to make crawling fun

Place toys on a low couch or cushion to motivate forward movement

Help your baby move legs into a crawling position if needed

Check with a pediatrician if your baby is not making progress or seems unusually stiff, floppy, or asymmetrical
