Blot up as much coffee as possible with a clean white cloth or paper towel
Mix 1 tablespoon dish soap with 2 cups cool water
Dampen a clean cloth with the solution and blot the stain
Work from the outside of the stain toward the center
Blot with a dry cloth to lift moisture
Mix 1 tablespoon white vinegar with 2 cups cool water if stain remains
Blot the area with the vinegar solution
Rinse by blotting with plain cool water
Blot dry with a clean towel
Sprinkle baking soda on the area once mostly dry
Vacuum after the baking soda has dried
Repeat if needed until the stain is gone
