Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Press firmly and repeat with dry towels until the area is mostly dry
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water
Lightly soak the stained area with the vinegar solution
Blot again with clean towels
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit until fully dry
Vacuum up the baking soda
If needed, apply an enzymatic pet stain cleaner according to the label
Blot and let the rug air-dry completely
Repeat the process if the odor or stain remains
