Brush off any loose dirt or grass
Rinse the stain with cold water from the back of the fabric
Apply liquid laundry detergent or dish soap directly to the stain
Gently rub the fabric together or use a soft brush
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Rinse again with cold water
If needed, apply a stain remover or a paste of baking soda and water
Wash the clothing in cold water
Check that the stain is gone before drying
Repeat the treatment if the stain remains
Avoid using hot water or drying until the stain is fully removed
