Turn off the car and remove the key
Put on safety gloves and eye protection
Open the hood and locate the battery
Disconnect the negative cable first
Disconnect the positive cable second
Remove any battery hold-down bracket
Lift out the old battery carefully
Clean the battery tray and cable terminals
Place the new battery in the tray
Secure the battery with the hold-down bracket
Connect the positive cable first
Connect the negative cable second
Tighten all connections
Close the hood
Start the car to check that it works
