Place your index and middle fingers on your wrist or neck
Count the beats for 15 seconds
Multiply the number by 4 to get beats per minute
Use a heart rate monitor or smartwatch
Check the pulse on the inside of your wrist below the thumb
Check the pulse on the side of your neck beside the windpipe
Measure when you are at rest for the most accurate resting heart rate
Repeat the measurement if the pulse is hard to find
