Blot the ink immediately with a clean white cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the stain
Place a towel under the carpet if possible
Test any cleaning solution on a hidden area first
Dab the stain with rubbing alcohol using a clean cloth
Blot from the outside of the stain toward the center
Repeat with fresh cloths until no more ink transfers
Rinse the area lightly with cold water
Blot dry with a clean towel
Apply a small amount of mild dish soap mixed with water if needed
Blot again with clean water to remove soap residue
Use a carpet cleaner for stubborn stains
Sprinkle baking soda on the area after cleaning to help absorb moisture
Vacuum once the carpet is fully dry
Repeat the process if the stain remains
Call a professional carpet cleaner if the ink does not come out
