How To Get Mold Out Of Clothes?

Move the clothing outdoors or to a well-ventilated area

Wear gloves and a mask

Dry brush or shake off loose mold outdoors

Wash immediately in the hottest water allowed by the care label

Add laundry detergent plus one of the following:

Oxygen bleach (sodium percarbonate)

Or white vinegar (1 cup in the wash cycle) and then oxygen bleach if needed

For mildew odor, add 1/2 to 1 cup baking soda to the wash

If mold remains visible, soak 1–6 hours in oxygen bleach solution (follow package directions for dilution)

Rewash after soaking using the hottest safe setting

For stubborn spots on colorfast items, pre-treat with oxygen bleach paste (oxygen bleach + water), wait 10–30 minutes, then wash

Dry completely in direct sunlight if possible; otherwise use a dryer on the highest safe heat

If the item cannot be machine washed, spot clean with oxygen bleach solution and air-dry fully

If mold returns or stains remain after laundering, repeat oxygen-bleach soak and wash

Discard items that are heavily infested, have degraded fabric, or cannot be cleaned safely
